PHP Developer

PHP language is the most common entry-level job you will see all over the world. And honestly, this is my first job as well, and I tell you that it is very fun to work on this language because this covers both front end and back end. Below are the stacks that you might want to study before applying for this job.

  • Understand PHP’s MySql functions.
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • AJAX
  • jQuery
  • HTML
  • CSS / SCSS

Able to understand these functions and stack you will be able to get that first PHP Developer title on your resume.

SPA Developer

Since the dawn of web development, Javascript is the most commonly used by many developers around the world. And most industries are looking for more ways to make their web applications run over JS. To answer why they are so interested in Javascript, it’s because of the rising trend of Single Page Applications or simply known as SPAs. And the most common job you will find over classified ads is ReactJS, Angular, and VueJs.

In my line of work today, ReactJS is now our main programming language coming from PHP, the reason is that JS will greatly improve our system 10x compare to PHP. With the power of the Asynchronous feature, this is really achievable.

In my experience, here are the things you need to understand to jump into SPA development.

  • Understand the concept of Single Page Application
  • Focus first on one programming language (ReactJS, Angular, or VueJS)
  • NodeJS for backend stuff
  • MongoDB
  • HTML
  • SCSS
  • ES6 Javascript !important
  • Redux is super plus or any available state management solutions

This is the most common thing you need to understand to penetrate into the world of JS Developer.

Always study even if you graduated. Because this will put you in a great position to move up your ranks. And never put yourself down if you made a mistake as this will be your stepping stone to master web development
